06/02 - Kuhl Hose provides Ambulance coverage Sunday nights during race season at the Eriez Speedway.  The ambulance crew works as part of a track safety team that also consists of a fire/rescue crew.

Tonight a car in the Challenger Division rolled several times coming out of turn 3.  The safety team responded to the track, found the driver unresponsive and called for additional resources.  697 with 3 EMT/FF as well as the 4 rescue crew members, 3 of which are paramedics, began to treat and stabilize the patient.  687 responded along with 683 for additional resources.

The crews used the Sawzall, HOLMATRO HCT and the HOLMATRO BCT to remove the roof and gain better access to the patient.  Using a short spine board designed for the race car seat the patient was secured and the prepped for removal from the car.  The crews were then able to remove the patient onto a long spine board and extricate him from the car.   The Patient was transported to UPMC Hamot for treatment.
