Kuhl
Hose was dispatched to assist Belle Valley for a Brush
Fire just after 1 p.m. Saturday, on arrival of Chief 361
he reported a large area approximately 1/2 acre
burning. With gusting winds it complicated the
suppression effort. 361 special called for 689 and a
tanker from Kuhl Hose. Crews from Belle Valley were at
a Pump operation class when the fire was dispatched and
responded. Chief 7x was the instructor and used the
experience for real life training. On arrival crews
pulled both 1" red lines as well as the other brush fire
equipment and assisted with extinguishment. Crews were
on the scene for just under 1 hour.
Shortly after going in-service
from the Belle Valley brush fire we were dispatched to
assist Wattsburg at Phillipsville and Knoyle roads.
Initial reports were of an exposure of a barn. Kuhl
Hose sent an engine, tanker and mini pumper 689. On
arrival crews again pulled the 1" red line and also used
Indian fighters, rakes, and shovel to assist with the
extinguishment and protect the exposure. Crews were on
the scene for just under 1/2 hour.
