Kuhl Hose members
conducted training with their new rescue
equipment. Just before January 1st
they received a Holmatro BCT 3120 combi; Self
Contained Rescue Tool, Holmatro High Pressure
Air Bags, Junkyard Dog Rescue Struts, and Dewalt
cordless Reciprocating saws. The airbags were
purchased to replace a 20 year old Vetter airbag
system. The rescue tool and rescue struts were
new equipment to add to the rescue capabilities
of the department.
The
new equipment will be on 683 Engine which is at
Station #3. This station has the best access to
not only
GreeneTownship, but to other mutual aid
districts.
Training was conducted inside the fire station
due to the inclement weather. An unexpected
snow storm forced the training inside. The
initial training was conducted inside to get the
best experience and the best learning
environment. Kuhl Hose has over 10 new members
that joined in 2004 and have never had a rescue
course.
The
equipment was purchased through grants from the
Commonwealth and additional funds from
donations.
