Shortly before
5 p.m.
Kuhl Hose units
were dispatched to the 8700 block of
Kuhl Rd
for a structure fire. The
initial information was from a passer-by who
summoned the Fire Department after driving by
and noticing a large amount of smoke in the area
and fire coming from the back of a garage. The
homeowner was unaware that there was a fire.
The first alarm
assignment consisted of Kuhl Hose,
Belle
Valley
,
Brookside
, Perry Hiway, and
Kearsarge Fire Departments.
On arrival of Chief 680,
heavy smoke and fire showing from a 1 ½ story
25’ x 36’ garage. 682 Engine arrived on scene,
pulled an 1 ¾” line and made an interior
attack. The fire was quickly brought under
control, and the RIT team was returned.
242 Engine, 32 Engine and
Truck 30 crews performed salvage and overhaul
operations.
Crews used (1) 4"
LDH supply line, (1) 1 ¾” hand lines.
The fire is under
investigation, but appears to have started in
the rear of the structure in the area of the
chimney and wood stove.
